BMS Executive Staff

Mark K. Reed – The founding member of BMS, Mark K. Reed, was the highest ranking career government official within the Immigration and Nationalization Service during his career. At retirement, Mark directed border patrol, investigation, detention and removal, adjudication, and inspection operations from the northern to southern U.S. borders.

William (Bill) R. Yates – Bill Yates retired in 2005 as the senior career official at CIS following a 31 year career. Bill’s immigration career is unique due to the scope of his operations management and policy development. Bill is frequently called upon by both the private and public sector for advice on immigration issues.

Chuck Huffman – Chuck Huffman ended his 32 year career as the Chief Patrol Agent in charge of the nation’s Border Patrol Academy. Chuck also served as the Director of International Training during which he worked with the Department of State to develop and deliver training programs for foreign government immigration and border guard operations. These courses were delivered in Eastern and Central Europe, Africa, Central and South America, Southeast Asia, and the Caribbean.

Gus De La Vina – Gus De La Vina recently retired as the National Chief of the Border Patrol, the highest ranking border patrol agent in the nation after a 34 year career. Gus developed, directed, and implemented the Border Patrol’s National Strategy, including the acquisition and deployment of personnel, technology, equipment, and infrastructure. Gus received four Distinguished Service Awards from the U.S. Attorney General and the U.S. President.
